What is an Infomercial?
are long-format television commercials, typically five minutes or longer.Infomercials are also known as paid programming (or teleshopping in Europe). This phenomenon started in the United States where infomercials were typically shown overnight (usually 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.)--outside of peak hours. Some television stations chose to air infomercials as an alternative to the former practice of sign-off. By 2009, most US infomercial spending is during early morning, daytime, and evening hours. Stations in most countries around the world have instituted similar media structures.
The term "infomercial" is sometimes misapplied and used to refer to direct response television advertisements (DRTV) of 60 to 120 seconds in length. However, the term describes program length advertisements which, in the US, are typically 28 minutes and 30 seconds in length (see above references). In the US, DRTV advertisements of 30 seconds to 2 minutes in length are typically called "short form" or "DRTV spots" and are not included in the advertising industry's use of the term "infomercial". Note that in the US market, a small amount of media can be purchased for 5 minute length advertisements, although this time is quite limited. Outside of the US market, lengths depend on the lengths allowed by television stations and government regulators.
While the term "infomercial" was originally applied only to television advertising, it is now sometimes used to refer to any presentation (often on video) which presents a significant amount of information in an actual, or perceived, attempt to persuade to a point of view. When used this way, the term may be meant to carry an implication that the party making the communication is exaggerating truths or hiding important facts. Often, it is unclear whether the actual presentation fits this definition because the term is used in an attempt to dis-credit the presentation. In this way, political speeches may be derogatorily referred to as "infomercials" for a specific point of view.

How Can I Run My Own Infomercial?
It would cost you over $500,000 to produce this infomercial on your
own-Yet it is available to you for only $199. This price will be
raised in the near future. So purchase today of you would like to
own your own TV infomercial!
$40,000 in sales in two days.
The most exciting promotion we have is the airing of your first half
hour professional TV show that you own, and the anticipation of not
knowing what the results will be in less than 45 minutes. This
only compares with the excitement at the craps table or roulette wheel
in Las Vegas. You can start in this business by running TV shows
for as low as $50 per spot.
There are T.V Stations all around the globe that are liquidating unsold
spots and you can cash in on this rare opportunity.
We have also spent as high as $7,000 for a half hour slot. I have spent
$20,000 for a weekend airing of around 15 cities and received over
$40,000 in orders for the weekend!
I made 2,000 in 30 minutes on a Sunday morning.
I had a friend and distributor in San Diego “Bob Foulting”.
For fun we would buy TV time together and split the proceeds. One
morning I called Bob and said, the local TV channel has a slot
available for Sunday morning for $1,700, do you want to go in on this
one or pass. He says I’ll pass on this one. I ran our 28:30
minute infomercial at 7am that Sunday and it pulled in 87 orders at
$49.95 each for a total of $4,345.65 this left me $2,645.65 after
deducting the $1,700 I paid for the TV time. After filling the 87
orders including product and shipping costs, I made $2,000 in 30
minutes on that Sunday morning.
The excitement about owning your own infomercial is that when you run
it on TV you make all your money in 30 minutes! A few orders may arrive
later but 95% of all orders will be called in during the show. If
you’re a gambler this marketing program is for you. If you are
not a risk taker this is not for you. By the way I called my friend Bob
after the TV show Sunday morning and said you just lost $1,000 (half
the profit would have been his if he would have went in halves on the
TV time)! We ran a flight of shows the next weekend together and he
made over $10,000 for the weekend. We both still laugh at the show on
that Sunday morning that he passed on. Well maybe he dosen’t
laugh.
The cost to produce and edit a live 30 minute infomercial would exceed
$500,000 on your own. We have filmed a majority of this show on
location in Hawaii at the Royal Kona Resort and your cost is only $199
for the Beta SP Tape. You will need to edit out our information and
place your information in the show. Your phone number, website, and
etc. We use a company called Vi-Cap Products out of New York to do our
editing. However you can use anyone that has a beta sp and that knows
how to edit.
It is important that you have an oder taking hotline to handle your
call volume. Some of the best spots could be airing at 2 am, and you
could receive 100 calls. You will need to have an inbound department
take the orders and send them to you. Most of these inbound departments
charge by the minute and can easly be set up. We used a company out of
Florida call Answer First. However you can do a google search for
"Inbound Call Center" and contact these companies to set up an
agreement.
